Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Parrott-Masiewicz.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started Parrott Party Productions in 2011 after realizing there were very little paid opportunities for someone out of college who already knew how to plan and design events and weddings. I connected with Julie Nunn of I DO! Weddings & Events in Mill Valley, CA and went through an intensive two week training session with her. The first wedding I got to work on with I DO! was published in Town & Country and from there I knew this was what I wanted/needed to be doing. I came back, got our website up and running and within a few months- was planning our very first official wedding!
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business is never completely smooth but that’s what I signed up for. There were times I felt pouring my time and money into something that may or may not work was not the best decision but every time I booked a new client, received a referral from an old client or attended a networking event; I was reassured this was the industry that I wanted to be a part of.
At times, it was hard seeing my work portrayed on others websites, images from events I designed displayed as someone else’s. This happens a lot in this industry and now it’s something I welcome and just ignore. There were never any clients I wish I had never signed or an event I wish I had never done, only lessons as to how to do better next time. Every client/event is a learning experience and I look forward to the challenges each time.

P3 Events (formally Parrott Party Productions) is a Wedding Planning & Event Design company that specializes in creating one of a kind experiences. We are on the younger side of the industry and with that comes fresh ideas, new visions and the willingness to try anything once!
I am the Owner and Head Planner & Designer. I specialize in Day of Production and Event Design. I am known for creating over the top designs and wedding blue prints. I am most proud of our Day of Timelines and how detailed and specific they are for each of our clients. We have praised numerous times at how amazing our timelines are and how they made the day go off without a problem. Mothers and Fathers of the Brides/Grooms we work with are always impressed with our scheduling and it ensures a seamless, stress free day for everyone involved.
We keep up with the trends but try not to imitate or copy them. We always like to infuse our clients’ personalities into current trends more so than anything else. Not one wedding is the same and we make sure that every wedding represents our couples in every way possible. We are curators of memories and this is one way to produce unique memories for our very special Brides & Grooms.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I LOVE everything about Chicago. I was born and raised here and have no intention of ever leaving. My husband and I just purchased property in Bridgeport and will be building a home there for this fall! I love the infusions of culture, the foods, the views and all of the activities that are always happening in any given part of the city at any time. There is always something to do or somewhere to go. I am in my last week of pregnancy (hopefully) and have missed going out, catching a good happy hour and just relaxing on a rooftop. Summers in Chicago are one of a kind and I cannot wait to be a part of the city again!
The traffic is my least favorite part 🙂 Living and working off of State Street makes traffic inevitable. I am not a fan of public transportation so I deal with traffic on the daily. It is fun to find secret streets every once in a while and use those until they become public knowledge.
