Meet Kris Gruner and Chris Falcon of WIN Athletic Center in Glenview

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kris Gruner and Chris Falcon.

Opening in Glenview in Fall 2018, WIN Athletic Center is a 13,000 square foot state of the art training facility will bring out the best athletic edge in youth and adults.

WIN = “What’s Important Now?”

“Community. Connection. Collaboration. WIN is an emotive experience that makes us stronger, inside and out.”

WIN Athletic Center was founded on the belief that the experience of fitness is better shared. Their trainers will challenge clients of all ages to focus on “What’s Important Now”.

Let’s go back to that strong notion – Fitness is an experience better shared. In addition to being a leading fitness facility, WIN will also have a unique philanthropic approach. Their goal is to “bridge the health gap” by donating a certain percentage of membership sales to the purchase of fitness equipment for schools and community centers in the Chicagoland area. Their first beneficiary will be Family Focus, which nurtures a large audience in underserved communities through their after school programs.

Led by the industry’s best trainers, WIN athletes will gain strength, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility in their signature offerings. 60+ group fitness classes will be offered each week for youth (8+) and adults, and they’re excited to use the power of community to accomplish great things. That’s #WINlife.

Has it been a smooth road?
WIN Athletic Center is an extension of Reactive Performance Enhancement Center (“Reactive P.E.C.”), a successful personal training facility which opened in Glenview in 2007. The concept of WIN was born when co-founders, Chris Falcon (owner of Reactive P.E.C.) and Kris Gruner (a client of Chris’ for 15+ years), were brainstorming about the best way to enhance Reactive’s offerings while bringing in an element of group fitness as well as youth athletic training. WIN Athletic Center was born when Falcon and Gruner signed a lease on the space adjacent to Reactive P.E.C., providing a 13,000 square foot space to offer the best of Reactive P.E.C., as well as design a prescriptive approach to health that includes group fitness classes, massage, physical therapy and other wellness offerings. Building a startup has been (and will continue to be!) a large project, but it is a project driven by our leadership team’s passion for bringing connection and a shared experience to the North Shore community.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the WIN Athletic Center story. Tell us more about the business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
