So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always liked to sketch when I was growing up. It was a way for me to clear my head and work out anything that was bothering me. Later on when I was married I seemed to lose that passion. Once I divorced and was raising my sons on my own. My passion came back. I would sketch to clear my head. I started going to DePaul University for my BA in Finance and took a few art classes which really unlocked my creativity. When I had free time I would walk around in the city and find a great view/ landmark and sketch for hours getting lost in my creation. While attending DePaul for my MBA program it really helped me how to understand how to start and run a company.
I decided I would like to try to start-up my own Art Gallery. I had my Gallery website professionally built and work closely with the team constantly brainstorming and perfecting it to this day.
One day I was looking at a few photos I took Downtown and thought wouldn’t it look cool if I took that photo and sketched out the remaining view! People started noticing my work and I started getting orders to turn their cherished photos into art pieces.
I had created a wedding piece capturing my son and daughter in law special day and everyone loved it so much that I’m currently offering my services as a Wedding Sketch Artist and will come to a wedding reception and capture their special day by creating a blended art piece using photography & charcoal pastel. Creating it live throughout the reception while guests can watch it come to life!
I love when I can capture someone’s special day or moment in time with the art piece I create for them that brings them so much joy. It’s so rewarding to me.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a very bumpy road but a fun one! I guess the struggles would be how to build and add context in my website to drive traffic, Marketing Target audience while staying focused and keeping my passion alive in my art.
