Today we’d like to introduce you to Jodi Fyfe.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jodi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have worked in the food and beverage industry for more than 20 years and have always been passionate about hospitality and great service. Six years ago, I could see that the catering options in Chicago needed to evolve and knew I could establish a go-to resource for this city that offered a modern, creative take on catering. Enter, Paramount Events.
Fast forward to today, and we’ve also recently opened a restaurant called Eden and a private events venue called The Lakewood.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think the biggest hurdle when I started Paramount was myself. I was so unsure of how it was going to turn out and whether it was going to be successful. I wasn’t as aggressive a salesperson as I could have been, but over time I have gotten more comfortable working in all of the different departments.
It was also a challenge starting Paramount, because I was out of the industry for a little while to stay at home with my kids. When you jump into something, you have to jump in 100 percent, and I don’t think I was completely ready in the beginning.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Paramount Events – what should we know?
Paramount Events is a full-service catering company specializing in events, weddings and drop-off. Throughout town we are known for our delicious food and exceptional service. A couple things that set us apart in the industry are our commitment to sourcing the best possible ingredients, even growing many in our onsite growhouse, and our ability to staff events with talented team members who are employed and trained directly by Paramount Events, rather than a third party. Both of these factors allow us to have the greatest possible quality control over our food and service.
