Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeannette Villanueva.
Jeannette, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I first started off as a model when a friend asked me to please help him with a photoshoot he had in mind to build his portfolio. I had never modeled before and I was very nervous but it was very exciting and fell in love with modeling. I stopped modeling for a while and recently got back into modeling and I’m looking forward to working with new photographers and meeting new people.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, the reason I had stopped modeling is because I am a mother of 2. It’s not easy being a mother and also trying to model, but I am very lucky to have a supportive family that helps me with my dream of becoming a successful model.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jeannette Villanueva story. Tell us more about the business.
Besides being a model, I am also an experienced makeup artist and photographer. I have over 8 years’ experience as a makeup artist and I feel it really sets me apart from others because I am able to do my own makeup and styling for photoshoots and I feel photographers like that since it can make things easier for certain shoots. In regards to my photography, I got into doing photography recently since I genuinely enjoy the whole process and creativity that goes into photoshoots and I want to be able to help other models that have the same goal as me. I also love taking family portraits and newborn photos. I love being creative and capturing life’s special moments.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I feel I have been extremely lucky to have met a lot of photographers and other individuals in the industry that are very talented and creative. Definitely helps get amazing shots!
