Meet Gracie Nunez of Little Fox Paperie in Logan Square

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gracie Nunez.

Gracie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Even though I received a degree in Mathematics from Auburn University, I knew before graduation that I wanted to pursue graphic design. I completed a graphic design internship with NASA, and I began doing freelance graphic design work. During this time, I started designing wedding and bridal shower invitations for friends and family.

It was not until I designed my own wedding invitation that I decided to focus my entire business on wedding stationery. I moved from Huntsville, Alabama to Chicago in September of 2017 for my husband’s job, and I knew it was time to create a real brand and market my business. I officially launched Little Fox Paperie in November of 2017, and I have been working at it full time ever since.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Moving to a brand new city can make starting a business extremely difficult. Coming from a place where I got all of my clients through word of mouth, it was a real shock having to find new ways of marketing my business and booking clients.

Anyone who owns their own business will probably agree that it can be a pretty lonely job working for yourself. When I moved here, the only person I knew was my husband. That can take a toll on your mental state if you don’t find ways to connect with others and get out of the house. Luckily, I have made wonderful connections with other entrepreneurs going through a lot of the same struggles I am.

Little Fox Paperie – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Little Fox Paperie is a custom wedding stationery company. We create beautiful wedding invitations and day-of paper goods such as programs, menus, and place cards. Each invitation suite is designed with a personal touch. We specialize in stationery that incorporates custom hand illustrations. We love creating pieces with unique details that describe a couple or tell a story about their journey together. Venue illustrations are a personal favorite, but floral illustrations are a close second.

We offer digital printing, letterpress printing, and foil stamping with a variety of paper and envelope options. We love creating completely custom heirlooms, but we also offer a line of semi-custom invitations available for order online.

We take pride in our customer service and attention to detail. Clients work directly with us to create their dream wedding stationery that will serve as a cherished keepsake for years to come.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
When I started my business, I thought I needed to provide products that would appeal to the widest range of clients possible. In doing this, my style was completely lost. My proudest moment in my career was when I recognized this mistake. I realized that if I stay true to myself and my own style, the clients will come. It has made my business more genuine, and I enjoy it even more than I did before.
