Meet Ewa Pasek Riley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ewa Pasek Riley.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Born and raised in Poland, at the age of 20, I flew to Chicago where I established my home for the last 15 years. I will be staying for a while…

Please tell us about your art.
My creative and artistic soul uses photography to express as an artist. I always wanted to make movies but somehow I got into photography. After I moved from Europe to the United States about 15 years ago, I had a need to create my portfolio. I networked with friends and strangers and ever since I’ve been working with young, upcoming models, dancers, musicians. I collaborated with various professionals in the fashion industry, I did events, interiors, architectural assignments. I work with families, couples, I did weddings and on occasions, I assist my local photographer Jeff Cohen who introduced me to studio photography. But there really is so much more I do with photography. All the other stuff is a way to make money and pay bills. What I love the most is keeping a moment for a little longer. To go back and study the image, noticed things I haven’t at first. I love working with creative minds that inspire me to do better and different than anyone else.

For over three years now, I’ve been lucky to have an opportunity to design kitchens. It all started by complete accident and now I do everything from measuring the space, designing, selecting appliances, tiles, hardware. After the project is completed, I also photograph it, which by the way, is my favorite part of the process.

No matter what I do in life, it has to be creative otherwise, I loose my interest really fast.
I love digital design, home staging, decorating, animal kingdom and Mother Nature.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
Supporting your passion by working less creative type of a work.
Finding peace and balance to be able to create.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Best way to support my art is to schedule a photo shoot or purchase one of my prints.
I make custom books, pillows, canvas, metal and wood prints.
I also provide kitchen design services along with delicious, killer Martinis… (eight years behind the bars).
I had my first Art Gallery showing in May of 2017 at the Second Story Studios in Roger’s Park (2251W Devon).
I have a vision to create a big art installation event where artists could collaborate together. I let you know when it’s happening.
