Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Zic.
Diana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The concept came from my personal experiences of trying to get pregnant and not being informed about how your lifestyle affects your fertility health, e.g., the foods you eat, the foods to avoid, managing stress, your relationships, career, exercise, and spirituality.
I had tired of being in the corporate/legal services world, and had experienced challenges in becoming pregnant, and also seeing people in my personal life beset by health issues which I believed were manageable by a better diet and other lifestyle changes. I began with practicing yoga, then learning to teach yoga, and then moving to learning from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to incorporate diet and lifestyle changes to better one’s self. As I found from my own experiences, trainings, attending various health events, and interacting with people struggling with conception, there are more and more people experiencing what I have been experiencing, and realized there is a huge need for health coaching among this population. I believe that in our modern society, where couples are lacking the proper nutrients it takes to conceive, encountering huge amounts of stress and not managing it, waiting longer to try, and not getting the amount of exercise they need, we’ll continue to encounter more imbalances for both males and females regarding their fertility health.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My largest obstacle is reaching this population due to the feeling of shame or embarrassment about fertility imbalances. I am working to stop the negative stigma one person at a time 🙂 I believe what we say to ourselves becomes our reality.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
As a Certified Institute for Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, my mission is to help individuals with fertility challenges get balanced in their bodies. I create a supportive and safe environment that enables men and women to speak freely about their fertility and health goals. Through our conversations, we create a program that is unique to their specific needs and wants. I believe fertility health is bio-individualized, so trying to coach everyone in the same manner is not going to necessarily work. Also, I work with the patient to educate them about self-health management and encourage them in taking a proactive role in staying healthy (mind, body, and spirit).
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Helping people feel better in their bodies either through yoga or coaching. It’s amazing how a few changes can make all the difference in the world to someone’s life.
