Today we’d like to introduce you to Dawn Leah Estenor.
Dawn Leah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My mom has been my greatest influence. She is a highly skilled seamstress, incredibly creative and a lover of Fashion. I remember as early as age 5, watching her sew and then trying to imitate her by poking a toothpick through my blanket mimicking a needle stitching fabric. She loved being stylish and also styled my Dad who was a businessman. Fast forward to today, it’s been a combination of childhood influences, life experiences and my love of art and creativity that have cultivated my passion for being a Fashion Stylist.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
A longtime friend who is a very successful entrepreneur and businessman once said: “A skilled sailor never sailed a smooth sea.” That has stayed with me and is the absolute truth. The biggest struggle was simply making the decision to just do it and make this happen. I would tell myself the timing isn’t right or everything has to be perfect, but the longer a person waits… the more time passes by. You never know unless you try and all it takes is having the courage and confidence to put yourself out there. Once I did that and set small goals, things started moving. Outside of the “mental block”, the struggle has been gaining credibility and proving talent.
Please tell us about Dawn Leah.
