Today we’d like to introduce you to David Emmons.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am a self-taught artist. I have had a desire to design and create from my earliest memory. For the past twenty-six years, I’ve been doing just that. I employ my talents working with a welding torch and stained glass. I like the tools and techniques, and I enjoy working with metal. I’ve fallen in love with creating designs that enhance the beauty of living plants.
My sole focus, for those past ten years, has been creating stunning yet functional pieces for everyday use in your home. I want my art to be practical and affordable; so many people will enjoy the labors of my love. My work has changed some over the years. What has remained constant is my love of working with metal, as well as my respect for the process of creating a thing by hand.
I have been working with my wife in our Vermont shop for the past twenty-six years. We both share in the design and creation of each and every piece. We love the unique life we have created for ourselves and it gives us great joy to bring our work on the road and share it with the rest of the world.
Our creativity does not stop at our work itself, we believe that the art show attendees should have an overall experience with each artist. The importance of our booth design and the personality we bring to the show is vital to our success. We believe a visit at our booth should transport the public into our life as artists for that brief moment with us.
We exhibit at premier events throughout the country. Some of note: The Chicago Flower Show, Philadelphia Flower Show, Ann Arbor Art Fair, Wyandotte Street Art Fair, Crosby Festival of the Arts, and Arts and Apples, Rochester, MI…to mention a few.
Living and working our lifelong dream is truly a blessing that we never take for granted.
Please tell us about your art.
Working with copper and steel and colorful stained glass…and then I am surrounded by an enormous variety of live plants….my shop is a LIVING and working…colorful place to behold.
My Hanging Water Gardens™ are my unique way to easily and beautifully grow plants indoors. My desire is to bring joy and beauty and a gorgeous splash of art and elegance to people’s homes.
I want to be responsible for adding Hanging Water Gardens to people’s lives so that when they look at their windows, their bursting with color and life….maybe it’s even basil of mint growing in a particular design….it’s all about LIFE.
I create all of my designs in my Vermont Shop overlooking Lake Saint Catherine, surrounded by the mountains, and it’s where I draw my inspiration from. I cannot imagine creating anywhere else in the world.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
Opportunities for Artists have never been with the rise of social media, however, artists need to have a direct and clear understanding of how to harness this power to bring more of their fans into their world. Cities could help artists tremendously by holding workshops for online marketing for artists…bringing in experts that can speak with authority on topics such as social media marketing. Additionally, cities can create online showcases and galleries of local artist’s work…and then put some money into online advertising to promote those online showcases and galleries. Most artists would have tens of thousands of fans of their work…if only people knew they existed….it’s all about exposure. (That is why what you are doing is so wonderful! Thank you for that)
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
People can find me at some of the top art festivals in the country, and the top Flower Shows in the country. People need to Email me for a current show schedule…because it changes all of the time.

Hello David,
My name is Lori Jones. I work in watercolors. You recently sent me an email about a masterclass to increase website sales. Lately, I have been the recipient of many emails that are requests for my work but turn out to be scams. I’m quite leary of any emails concerning artistic endeavors because of this. I watched your video and thought…if it seems too good to be true it probably is too good to be true. However, I did look you up online and I think your work has convinced me that you are indeed an artist and may be on the up and up. So, I guess I’m asking what will your class entail and how much is it? Here is my website address: LoriJonesStudio.com .
Thanks for your time,
Lori Jones

Hello David,
I guess I am asking the same question as Lori Jones, the watercolor artist is asking. I saw your class offer for artists to learn to be successful and was checking you out everywhere…It turns out I even had met you in the Boston Flower show two or three years ago. An idea about flowers I had established myself but quite with the wire business. Anyhow I am a mixed media visual artist in paintings, jewelry and photography. My paintings website is expiring in November 30 and I am looking for new options for all my work. I don’t know if you cover anything on that subject. Also like to be informed how much and how long is your class.
I am looking forward for your answer.
Thank you,
Iphigenia Burg
(P.S. I am giving you my Facebook page website…my expiring website is PaintingsiLove.com/artist/iphigeniaBurg)
