Meet Cory Turek of CT Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Turek.

Cory, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started drawing from the early age of one year old, waking up with visions of what I wanted to create that day. Mixing my love for building with Legos and Kinex, this turned into assembling pieces of paper to form animals, houses and vehicles. Over the years, I got more into computers when my dad starting building his own custom pc. This set my precedent for combining traditional mediums with the new possibilities of digital media. High school and college also made me realize my love for creating music as well as building websites. Today I have my sights set on combining motion graphics, music, and user experience in new and interesting ways.

Has it been a smooth road?
Aside from the loss of loved ones and the emotional turmoil of past relationships, things have been fairly smooth along the way. My negative experiences serve as a vehicle in which I strive to create better memories and connections.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the CT Design story. Tell us more about the business.
I offer many different design services including logos, stationary (business cards, annual reports) promotional items (t-shirts, banners, fliers, ads), album art, as well as miscellaneous iterations for print and screen use. Aside from that I also offer motion graphics, web design, and eCommerce integration into existing or newly designed sites. The fact that I have wide experience in both print and digital design sets me apart from others because I not only understand standards very well but I push them to their limits to get the biggest impact on my clients’ target audience.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Aside from the obvious move towards even more digital design, I believe that there will be a revival of traditional hands-on mediums which will coincide with a major push to bridge the gap between the two. This will create new technology, displays, as well as different input types that facilitate the hands-on approach, making use of virtual reality which has started to bloom in recent years.
