So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My father started in 1967 with $150.00 he borrowed, he had a 21’ toro mower, rake, shovel and garbage can. He had health issues in 1998 and I purchased the company and turned it from a low 6 figure company to a 7 figure one
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggles I had was raising prices on old customers and changing the image of the company. I opened an office and started a website. We even purchased a new catchy phone number, 777- LAWN.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Medina Lawncare – what should we know?
We are a full-service maintenance, snowplowing company. That is our bread and butter still. We have over the years started doing a lot newer construction projects. Even installing and fabricating wrought iron fencing. We pride ourselves in customer service and are proud in having an office on a busy street open Mon-Friday.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Quickly responding to customers. Showing them you are really interested in their project and even letting them know when the project is complicated that they have in mind might have better solutions.
