Today we’d like to introduce you to Armani Coleman.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Armani. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
AM came about after I had to take a break from college. I moved back to Chicago and started working retail jobs here and there but I couldn’t see that being my daily routine for the rest of my life. Around May of 2016, my aunt asked me to photograph my cousin’s prom send-off.
Shortly after, I figured, “why not make a few bucks off of something I do with ease?” I had taken a photography class in high school but as I entered college, my interest dwindled. A few months into my (new) photo journey, I started watching YouTube videos and reading articles about graphic design/branding. I immediately fell in love with it.
Fast forward to May of 2017, we (my boyfriend and best friend -my team-) find studio space! Since then, we’ve added 2 new team members, music and audio production services, increased our clientele, and more! It’s only up from here!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! As a -small- creative agency/team, something you don’t see often, we always face the ‘are you legit?’ problem. Our services aren’t always physical and can be pricey so that frightens people. These days, scams are everywhere, you never know who’s on the other side of the screen.
We’re always thinking of new ways to present the legitimacy of ARMNI MEDIA.

ARMNI MEDIA – Creative Agency + Studio specializes in Branding, Web Design, Photography, Audio Production, and Social Media Management. We’re mostly known for our graphic design and photography. What sets us apart is our determination and dedication to our client’s projects. Every project we take on becomes our own. This is because we understand the power and success that can come from quality work.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Probably being able to photograph one of Chicago’s Hip-Hop legends, Bump J. He was incarcerated back in 2008 during the peak of his career. It was definitely a blow to the hip-hop community. I’m just glad that I was the first person to get a photo of him after being released! My photos went viral.
