Meet Anthony Ingram of Reflective Music in Southside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Ingram.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Anthony. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve basically have been rapping for as long as I can remember. My first words were “Wild Wild West” by Kool Moe Dee. This would evolve into me writing raps in the 6th grade, in which D2G was born (Di’Angelo 2 Grand) was born.

I continued to grow as an artist after attending Columbia College Chicago around 2005. After gaining some experiences in the music business, it would take me obtain knowledge and carry forward in my music pursuit. From this continuous work would music projects, various showcases, opening for legendary hip-hop artists, receiving awards as well as being apart of an independently funded tour throughout the Midwest.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is never such a thing as an easy road when in pursuit of a music career. Anything you can think of (management separations, squandered opportunities, being overlooked) have all taken place on this road. Many personal sacrifices have been made including time missing from my family. But with determination and persistence, the overall rewards prove worthy.

I feel that consistency in putting in the work, as well as the ability to relate to our listeners on a scale of vulnerability shoes as the most important piece of our success. Our mantra as a company is “See Yourself”. Basically, what it implies is that no matter what we deliver to the people, we want our demographic to be able to see their lives and their point of view through us.
