Today we’d like to introduce you to Andria S. Hudson.
Andria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am the oldest of seven children born to parents, Drs. Curt and Linda Stennis who have been married 41 years. My siblings and I were taught foundational principles about God, character, integrity, and hard work. Born and raised in the great city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs, I have a BA in Political Science from Lewis University with an emphasis in Journalism. I was the recipient of the Lewis University Flyer Award for Best Journalism.
In 1999, I was crowned Miss Northern Illinois under the Miss America Association and worked in corporate America as a paralegal and real estate consultant for many years before starting my business. I am the author of the book, “He Saved the Best for Last, Singles Becoming Vessels of Honor.” This book has been a best seller in Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Indiana, and Michigan and can be purchased on Amazon.
With over 25 years of experience, I have had the pleasure of writing and directing theatrical stage productions in the Chicagoland area. I enjoy mentoring and coaching individuals in finding their purpose and discovering their God-given potential and identity. One of my greatest joys is being married to my wonderful husband, William Hudson III, senior pastor of The Powerhouse Chicago Church on the south side of Chicago, IL.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The journey to being a better me hasn’t been easy but my faith in God has been the single, most powerful factor that has helped me overcome many struggles in my life.
One of the struggles of being an entrepreneur is being confident in who you are and what your brand offers. It can be very easy to compare yourself to the next entrepreneur or brand strategist, however, you must be confident that your brand is uniquely special and will service the right person fit for you. Having the right people on your team that believe in your vision is vitally important.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Andria S. Hudson Enterprises (ASH Enterprises) – what should we know?
ASH Enterprises is a corporation and lifestyle brand of mentorship and empowerment for business, ministry, and the arts. We host women’s conferences, business symposiums, teleconferences and webinars for professional development, and branding and image consulting.
We have produced several, theatrical stage productions in Chicago giving countless opportunities to actors and actresses. Sold out credits include “Twisted Passions”, “Worth the Wait Too”, and “Leading While Bleeding.” These productions are available on DVD.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Wow! I stand on the shoulders of so many great people that have inspired and motivated me. I have been tremendously blessed to have an outstanding family that supports and believes in my vision.
My parents have critically played a vital role in instilling the virtues of hard work, integrity, putting God first and never giving up on my dreams. I am extremely grateful to have a husband who is not afraid to see me shine and who pushes me to be great in who I am as a woman and as a leader.
My church, The Powerhouse Chicago, is one of the best churches ever! They have embraced me and believed in me beyond measure by supporting my theatrical productions and events. I am very fortunate to have a great team, (ASH Enterprises team) that is comprised of gifted individuals who have gone the extra mile to support and undergird the integrity and core values of my business.
