Today we’d like to introduce you to Anat Trace.
Anat, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We opened Taboun Grill at the beginning of 2003. At the time there were no kosher Israeli grills in The Chicago area.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It is never a smooth road, but the community has welcomed us with open arms and has continued to support us to this day.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a sit-down restaurant. We cater as well. Our specialty is providing good, quality food, made fresh every day. Most of our food is made to order, with a few items like our Basmati rice, green beans, mashed potatoes, which, obviously, need to be made ahead.
We are proud to be the first to offer authentic Israeli cuisine, at fair prices.
What sets us apart is the fact that our customers are very loyal and we consider them family. We treat them with the warmth and appreciation that they deserve.
What were you like growing up?
We grew up in Israel in a close-knit family. My brother and I work together in the restaurant as well.
