Today we’d like to introduce you to Albert Alexander.
Albert, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a Veteran with 4yr degree in Communication Studies, I have started several businesses that did not do well. I have applied for jobs and did not get hired. I worked at a place that could not even pay me. We became homeless 2x in 10 years, wife and children.
Alderman Matt O’Shae asked me to be on FOX32 as a benefactor of “Operation Help a Heroe” He could not believe I became homeless helping homeless Vets www.aspecialplaceforveterans.org I have created several Community Enrichment Programs for the everyday person to make some cash legally and lawfully. Before I ran out of money I founded Days of Enlightenment Program for young people to learn how to become an economic success.
There is too much to put here in words. A video would suffice or audio recording. I started the massage business for my family security while I continue to build the organization that will help millions across the nation. I will also send you my resume.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Albert is historically known for overcoming diversity. At an early age, he pressed his way through mental challenges of scoring very little over being retarded and suffering from saver case of dyslexia. He kept a positive attitude and not only ended up with a high school diploma from Proviso West High School Diploma (May 1995), a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Governors State University, University Park, IL (May 2013), he achieved Lambda Pi Eta National Honor Society for Communications and S.A.L.U.T.E. National Honor Society for Veterans at GSU.
At age twenty became HR Specialist in U.S. Army. While active duty, he started first business, a foot washing service Campbell’s Scrub N Rub. A few years later stumbled upon a carpet cleaning service he named Scrub-A-Dub-Rugs. After leaving the military he turned the foot washing into a full-scale mobile Ex-Spoily-Ation and Skin Treatment service, with organic skincare products for Dead Sea, Sea of Galilee and Gold Elements.
In between clients, he managed to be an effective community activist. He saw what the needs where for the less fortunate around him, funded grassroots initiatives from his own home, or where he could get people together. He founded and organized Community Enrichment Programs for young adults earn cash helping local businesses get clients instead of dealing drugs. He did the same thing for Choice Career College to help Veterans get train in Robotics and hired after training. He also started Days of Enlighten, contributed to the success of Holistic Human Development, as a liaison of their six departments.
After several failed businesses, and pulling the family through homelessness twice, he got more determined than ever to make a life for his family and fellow Veterans. While moving place to place, finding money for food and to give others gas money, he managed to keep it together. He never missed a beat on building an organization to house Veterans and their families. He started meeting the right people and being in the right places, then finally made progress necessary to stabilize himself, his family and the organization.
And now he finally is the Global Director of A Special Place for Veterans where they are buying land and building communities for Veterans and their family members. All we need is $7 a month from every Vet and active duty personnel.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
In my massage business, we have created Holistic Human Health Program (H3). 1. Benefit of massage; 2. Organic Skincare products from Dead Sea, Sea of Galilee and Gold Elements, 3. Food Alternative to Drugs Consultation on FB. We travel to you and bring the prestige service directly to you.
We are currently working on coming to your home instead of IN your home with services in an RV. We plan on doing parties, for nails, hair, and massage. We want to franchise to create more jobs.
What were you like growing up?
I grew up in Gary, IN and struggled in school. I have plenty of “bad” grades. On paper, I look incompetent, but when people met me, they want me on their team. My mother was sickly for several years.
I remember running home every time I heard an ambulance. 7 time out of 10 it was for her. She did when I was 14. All the time, I always did work in the community. At age of 9, I would shovel snow, cut grass, wash cars. I even washed feet as an adult while active duty until I started doing massage full scale.
