Today we’d like to introduce you to Abdullah Motiwala.
Abdullah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Due to the sweet tooth I have, I was walking down the honey/jam aisle when I realized that there were tons of different jams with high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and colors, artificial preservatives packed with handful of sugar however only a few different sources of honey that did not pack the strong flavor punch like jam. That’s when I came home and began experimenting with fresh fruits and honey – strawberries, lemons, mangoes, oranges, and even cinnamon squeezing directly into the honey and yes we kept the plain local clover and wildflower honey for those of us who love honey straight from the comb. I was driven to create a natural product, where I could truly highlight the benefits of a known natural health product and exemplify the taste by using quality ingredients. I wanted healthy to taste good again. As we say around here, we thank our customers daily for allowing us to make their day naturally sweeter.
I have always been fascinated and passionate to work with our bees and local farmers, I love diving into the process and immersing my self in the ecosystem of the bees them self to appreciate all the work they do. Working directly with farmers has helped me truly understand how critical it is to prevent our bees from going extinct as they die by millions every day, this is something that drives me every day to continue working directly with the bees and our farmers to better our farming practices. Innovation is key to me with our natural flavored honey, honey straws, and honeycombs but it is far more important to create a movement to motivate us all to begin saving our bees from our very own backyards even it if it means to leave our dandelions uncut in our gardens (yes, bees love them!).
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road is never smooth, you just have to judge the bumps along the way by choosing the best way to maneuver. Every step you take has it’s own challenges much like a beehive but with our passionate mission that drives us everyday to continue efforts to save our bees, to fund our farmers, to encourage a global audience to plant sources of flowers or leave water out for bees – it definitely makes our ride more meaningful even when we hit those bumps we persevere.
Heaven’s Honey Inc. – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Heaven’s Honey Inc. is family owned company since 2015 based in Bensenville, IL, we prepare and package everything from scratch, artisan, handmade and gourmet. Our signature pure gold honey is renowned for its floral taste and to distinguish our selves we also blend fresh all natural fruits and spices, for a unique experience as an alternative to artificial sweeteners for tea, salads, protein, oatmeal, cheese, yogurt, biscuits, chicken, fish, etc. Our family’s pride rests in a recipe that is free of artificial preservatives, gluten, food coloring, and additives. We choose our fruits and spices based on their properties, allowing us to add increasing health benefits to the already wholesome advantages of honey itself. For example, lemons contain vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin A and more, aiding in treating throat infections, indigestion, obesity while benefitting hair and skin care, etc.

I am extremely proud of our direct relationship with our farmers and bees. Our partnership with our farmers has helped us put a smile on their faces and has mutually helped us increase awareness of the epidemic. We hope to continue working with farmers to ensure traceability, better farming practices, fund farmers, and bring back our bees even those that don’t produce honey but are critical for pollination.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is when you are loving what you are doing and it does not feel like work anymore. Success is when you have gathered enough resources from your endeavor to advance in creating another beneficial movement.
