Today we’d like to introduce you to Will McDaniel.
Will, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Music was important to me as a child. Always knew I wanted to do it, so it became something I worked really hard at early. Wrote my first song when I was like 7, got introduced to DAW’s a few years later. Dropped projects and sold them for $5 in school, doing all the extra hard work like cover art, uploading, promoting, burning the cd’s etc., myself. Moving forward, in 2016 I made the biggest decision in my life and moved to LA to pursue my dream and get away from the negativity I was surrounded with. Now I’m literally living my dream. Just doing what I love and getting paid for it.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I’m an artist, producer, engineer, and songwriter. I use FL Studio to make my beats, and I record using Logic Pro X. I use all of these as outlets of expression. I honestly don’t know a better way to express then through my music. The message I like my listeners to receive is mainly to never let your mistakes be you. We all make them and we can all recover from them and be great. I’ve made so many mistakes in the past, some that hurt me, some that hurt others, and I didn’t even care, but I told myself I had to be better, and I did that. And I also want them to remember to always themselves. My biggest inspiration nowadays is my son and my family. Before, it was my depression, stemming from life’s curveballs. Only thing you should know ahead of time is that I wake up, go to work, which is teaching kids in the city music production and recording, then come and make music. I don’t party, I don’t go out lol. Meaning I really put time into this.
The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
Moderate your spending, be stronger than your habits, but never be afraid to take risks when it comes to your dreams. Just plan strategically for the risk. Make sure you have extra money put up just in case your investment doesn’t come back how you planned. Always invest in yourself though.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My work is available on every media streaming service out. Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Google Play, YouTube, Soundcloud, etc. & if any artists are interested in beats for sale visit my profile on BeatStars.com. Just search for Fee4Three. The best support you can give me is actually taking time the listen, spreading the message and the art, & even reaching out to me to let me know what you think. I take all criticism.
All my social media accounts have the same, “@Fee4Three”. I have an EP I released July 4th that’s Executive Produced by Niko The Great available on all media streaming services, along with a few singles including my latest one, “I Wear Bag”, produced by myself, which is the first off, my next project “Earth is The Trap’, set to release on August 10th. Real soon! Also, look out for me and my brother Gnarly’s project “FMG WAY”, coming soon too. Free Music Group is everywhere this year.
