We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I’m a visual artist, my artwork is bold, colorful, high contrast, and figurative. My work normally represents a story or an expression. My work tends to have heavy brush strokes and texture which I use to convey a certain feeling. I want people to engage in my work and see their life through my painting or emotionally connect with the painting.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
I think the internet and social media has changed and reshaped the art world drastically. I feel like in this day in age art is not as appreciated as it should be. The internet makes it easy for your art to get stolen and gives customers access to huge retail chains across the country that sell reprints for pennies. Social media makes it hard for artists because the viewers or customers are finding for more content. They want you to create more and more without really valuing the art presented to them. Events and issues around the world feeds my work by creating a story line or giving me inspiration.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
