Check out Danny Diaz’ Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Diaz.

Danny, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am an Operating Room Nurse at the University of Chicago Center for Care and Discovery. I am also doing some photojournalism for the Chicago Red Cross during their events and whenever needed. I do Modeling and Lifestyle Photography by side as a hobby and a part time gig. I was introduced to Photography when I was in College during the 90’s, when a good friend of mine, always tag me along their wedding shoots and it got me interested. That is basically where I learned much of Photography. I did leave this art for a while till I came to the US way back 2001, when another good friend of mine recalled that I do that long time ago and introduced it back to me. From then I always try to join meetups and photoshoots. When I felt comfortable as a Photographer, I went Pro and did Wedding Photography for a short while. But when it took much of my time for my real work as a nurse, I cut back from it. Then I studied Portrait Photography from reading books and searching online. I got inspired from photographers who display their work online and got the passion for lifestyle and model photography. Until now this have been one of my stress relievers, and my getaway that gives me the well deserve relaxation I needed after a long week from my true work and number one passion… Being a Nurse.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I work with models and people, who are interested in doing lifestyles, portraiture and glamour. I’d like to show the beauty of people’s activities of daily living. It’s very interesting to show this form of art in a way for it shows us the true inside of what and how people are. Sometimes, you define a person of who they are on pictures especially when you see them in stills doing their favorite things in life, being in their normal selves and just being them.

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
I’ve always been a critic of my own work. And most artists are like that. I think it’s pretty normal that we cannot be satisfied with our own work. My advice is that just keep it up that’s how it is. I think that’s what makes us better on what we do.

In the digital world of Photography, every day is training day. I learn stuff every time I do shoots and sit on my computer to do the editing. So I don’t think there’s something I wished I could have learned before

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I do have a website, its www.dannydiazphotography.com. I find Instagram as a very reliable tool as well to display my work. www.Instagram.com/Ddiazphotography

They can support me by liking my images in Instagram and engaging on my images by giving comments and referring friends to follow me. They can also communicate with me there if they have questions and inquiries
