Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Eisenmann.
Alicia, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I had a love of baking and art since I was a child. I enrolled in Kendall College and studied Baking and Pastry. I did my internship at Sea Island Resort in Georgia under the instruction of James Mullaney. When the economy crashed in 2008, I enrolled in school to get my bachelor’s degree in economics but also did orders out of the house. Orders were picking up and it was becoming impossible to take on any more work from my parents’ house. We took a chance on a spot that we saw available and we decided to take a chance and go with it! With great luck, we were busting at the seams within one year, and by the 5th year expanded into a location 4 times the size! We are now at 8 years, and we are continuing to grow and create great masterpieces for our clients.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
We make art out of cakes, cake pops, cookies and more. We love to make people smile, we love being the memory from a child’s early birthday party, and we love being the sweet finish to a gathering with friends.
Each order is meant to celebrate the recipient, we try to make every order unique to that person.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
I think social media plays a very large role in the influences/ impact that artists have. I follow many national and local pastry artists that influence me continuously.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can follow us on social media such as Facebook, or Instagram, or our website. The best way to support our business/ work would be to purchase some sweets and spread the word!
