Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Millman.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Joshua. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was in high school, I was into the Beatniks, Kerouac, Ginsberg and they were always in coffee shops discussing life and pushing boundaries and that was a setting I wanted to be in. I was 16 (many many moons ago) and Starbucks had just opened in Glenview Il and that was my first coffee job. I immediately fell in love with everything about coffee, from learning about different countries to being of service, to drinking this beautiful little seed. After high school, I moved to Colorado, and attended CSU, and worked in some coffee shops.
After graduating I moved to San Diego and really dove into specialty coffee. I helped open and run a cafe in downtown, then learned how to service all coffee equipment, and then was recruited by one of the top roasters there and started roasting. I left San Diego moved back home, worked for another coffee roasting company, and feeling that I have connected to a company that portrayed coffee they way I wanted and a company to function, I started Passion House 7 years ago.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ha! The struggle and strife in this thing we call life. We have had a lot of ups and downs, so many I could write a book about it. I’ve been told no thousands of times, I have bad breakups, I have failed 100s of times with different Ideas and the best thing about all the struggles is how much I have learned and seeing all the grit I have to get back up each time.

We are known for passionately sourcing, roasting and delivering the world’s best coffee possible. We create balanced and complex coffees by meticulously sourcing freshly harvested beans from farms around the world and carefully roasting them on a vintage 1957 German Probat cast-iron roaster.
