Today we’d like to introduce you to Tullius Heuer.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m Brazilian, from a city called Maceió in the state of Alagoas. I actually have a degree at Computer Networks, but I didn’t choose to stay on I.T field.
I’ve been doing stuff with Photoshop for about 10 years, but I just started doing more artistic and professional stuff for 5-6 years ago. My interest in art started when I knew a website called Worth 1000, which promoted contests of Photoshop skills. After some participations where I learned a lot of stuff I started using Deviantart and there I knew more artists that became friends along these years.
Please tell us about your art.
My art is made with Digital techniques, mainly using Photoshop, we usually call the style as Photomanipulation, but I rather call it as just digital art. It’s a montage made with various photo resources and a bit of digital painting.
Doing art is my main job for living, but also a passion, a hobby and the way I found to express myself somehow. Everything can be an inspiration to me, I don’t have a specific thing that makes me get excited to make art. As a very empathic person I tend to have ideas in my most introspective moments, when I think about simple stuff as important elements of existence, for example: a homeless child, childish innocence, universe and its infinity or even the gaze of our beloved ones, a sincere embrace etc.
I always have a meaning to bring in my artworks, mostly something emotional and makes me really happy when people can get inspired or when they can absorb a good message from it.
Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
Art is something essential for keeping sanity in the world we’re living on. So I believe the artists role is changing a lot, for better. There’s art in everything and there’s art for all tastes.
Exhibitions, conferences, public actions and other can bring for the mass an easier access to art and help artists to get more recognition and of course exposure in society. Is not easy to live from your art, but allowing these events to happen can have a good impact on both sides of the matter, the viewer and the artist.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My artworks are available in my social medias and my official website. Engaging with my publications and sharing it it’s the best way to support any artist, numbers are important for our exposure, but having interactions and people who really get interested in your work is absolutely most important!
