Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Fretzin.
Steve, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was a common sales guy looking to make a living in the field of sales. In 1996 I was in a small plane crash that turned my life literally upside down. While I obviously survived, my mind and body were badly damaged. My very serious girlfriend ended up with a traumatic brain injury and I was in a wheelchair with no use of my arms for months. I was reminded daily how precious life can be and the importance of living each day as though it was your last.
Once I recovered, I was committed to not only becoming a better man but becoming someone who grew professionally by helping others. In 2004, I opened up sales coaching business called, “Sales Results, Inc.” The promise was to invest all of my efforts into helping business owners and their salespeople to achieve their goals. This became an overnight success as I worked day-in and day-out with my clients to actually get them “sales results!” I became a success through my clients wins, not necessarily my own.
Another big change happened in 2008 when the recession left the legal industry decimated and desperate for help in the one area they had no experience, sales! Of course, lawyers are too afraid of the word “sales” to call in that, so we call it “business development or marketing.” I was referred to so many lawyers and law firms over the next few years that it literally took over my business. I was investing 80-90% of my time exclusively in the legal space. Today, it’s really all I do. Working together with individual lawyers or small firms that are committed to learning business development and marketing.
I’ve never had so much fun or felt such tremendous reward. I feel that there isn’t another coach or marketing professional that knows the industry better than I do. We set goals together to double or in some cases triple their books of business in 12-18 months and have a stellar track record to back it up.
It’s been over 20 years since that plane crash and I look back in amazement that I am alive today. More importantly, that I have the ability to help make my family, friends and clients lives better as well.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fretzin, Inc. – what should we know?
We focus on helping lawyers and small law firms to get results for their businesses. Our skills and strengths are in teaching, coaching and mentoring highly committed lawyers on the soft skills of business development. We also help them by acting as their outsourced marketing arm. We handle their social media, blogs, and newsletters, so they can focus on what they do best, practicing the law.
What makes us unique is the personal attention our clients get from us. We take their calls at all hours and are only concerned with getting our clients results for the investment made in working with us. We are proud of their successes and are thrilled when we get testimonials that glow about our time together and the growth they’ve achieved after working with us.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My number one quality is in the caring and personal attention to my clients. They are making a big investment of time, money and energy to engage in learning business development with me. I feel obligated to do everything in my power to help them achieve their goals and build sustainability for the future.
