Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Zmuda.
Brian, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started in the professional business of plastering in 1991 as a pre-apprentice. I eventually excelled at my practice at Washburn trades school and graduated 1 year earlier what was scheduled for most other apprentices. Within a few years, I got promoted to a senior Forman which is unheard of. I worked for a company for close to 20 years traveling around the country restoring beautiful churches and theaters. I also worked on some of the most iconic buildings in the city of Chicago which included Orchestra Hall, Old St. Patrick’s church, Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago theater, the Vic, the Elks club and the Palmer House to name a few places. I decided to start my own legacy 6 years ago to continue making Chicago as well as the country great again.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a company and allowing it to grow is never an easy task. Everyone would be their own boss if it was that easy. Some of our struggles were learning new administration techniques, collecting payments on a timely fashion and getting enough sleep from long days of work.
Please tell us about Zmartin Plastering.
