Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Nikicic.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sam. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 2001, I moved from Montenegro to Chicago. I started working with friends and family doing painting work. During this time, I had many great learning experiences.
In 2007, I took a risk and started my own company, USA Painting & Remodeling. We started out doing basic painting projects. Since then every year we have expanded our clientele and our scope of work which now includes more remodeling, particularly bathrooms and kitchens.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning your own business definitely has its benefits and its challenges. The most difficult has been all of the moving parts of a business; balance of good employees, always striving to make my clients views come to life, changing trends, and balancing work/home life. There is much that goes on “behind the scenes” to take each project start to finish.
USA Painting & Remodeling – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
USA Painting & Remodeling does home painting and remodeling, which includes full kitchen and bathroom remodels.
Our key focus is attention to detail. This includes the details of the work we do and our cleanup after we complete projects.
As a company we strive to make sure every point of a project has been checked off. With a hands-on owner, my clients know that I will personally be there throughout the project.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The moments that truly make me proud of what I have done in my career are when I receive phone calls or messages from clients saying “We love what you have done in our home.”
For me, seeing that project go from an idea all the way through to an end result with a client that is truly happy is what it is all about!
