Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Bennett.
The club was founded in 1964 as a way to drive home sales in the Meadows Subdivision in Lisle, IL. It is managed by a volunteer board with fifteen members. Families have been enjoying the club with its tennis courts and multiple pools for generations. Membership is open to all.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Increasing membership is always a concern. The market for family entertainment is a very tight one. Families are very particular about where they spend their hard-earned dollars.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Meadows Swim and Tennis Club – what should we know?
The Meadows Swim and Tennis Club is a private club that caters to local families looking for a place to relax and meet with friends. There are three swimming pools: a toddler pool, a wading pool and a 25-meter pool with a diving board. On the grounds, you will find large grassy areas, picnic tables, some with umbrellas, grills and tennis courts. Our members are families, couples and singles. Our members can always find a place to sit and a grill to use. They can bring in their own food and beverages. They can leave their belongings at picnic tables or lounge chairs without worrying about them.
