Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Martin.
Nicole, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I consider myself an accidental entrepreneur. When I left the corporate world, I wanted to align with a business that wanted to create a winning workplace through their people. When I didn’t find the perfect fit, I founded HRBoost and never looked back. Initially, I worked as a freelance consultant, but when a client expressed interest in investing in my business, I knew that was a pivotal moment. We’ve grown each and every year. Today we have 15 employees and work with companies throughout the United States. We understand the changing needs of a company at each phase of growth and, as such, we provide a suite of human resource services which offer solutions based on best practices and latest innovations in the field of human resource management.
In addition to my responsibilities as CEO and Founder of HRBoost, LLC. I have authored two books in the field of human resources, The Talent Emergency and The Human Side of Profitability. And, as a result of my journey, I am also a keynote speaker and host of an internet TV show, where I share insights with aspiring entrepreneurs & business leaders.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My business had high growth and with that comes challenges. I had to find financing and talent that believed in HRBoost and our brand promise. As a disruptor in the industry, I attracted a lot of attention and even acquisition offers before I even realized a profit. The greatest enemy of success is fear. By overcoming fear, staying true to the vision and my values, we were able to build a solid team. This has been a key to our continuing success.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me every leader must align their personal values to the organizational values, and define success clearly so that every person can connect their role to a transcendent organizational purpose. The number one competency today is Generational Agility. When my organization and those that I work with are meeting that criteria, that’s success!
