Like many other businesses before me, in many ways Laine Too was an accident. In January 2012, my daughter Chloe celebrated her bat mitzvah ceremony and celebration. I meticulously planned every detail ensuring Chloe, as well as all their friends and family, had a fun unique experience. To add something different, I purchased a new to the market glitter tattoo kit and hired two high school girls to apply the tattoos to the guests during the party. The glitter tattoos were a hit with everybody – young and old! After Chloe’s bat mitzvah, I was contacted by other parents eager to know which company was had hired for the glitter tattoos. I was shocked but excited to see people were so interested in what I thought was a simple party entertainment idea and spent the following year researching all there was to know about the industry and the products currently on the market. It was evident that the entertainment industry was lacking a high quality, fashion-forward, long lasting body art product. That was it, I knew what I had to do. I have since developed the longest lasting temporary tattoo, lasting double the length of all others on the market! Laine Too is the only company on the market (yes in the whole US) that customizes their signature tattoo designs for every single event, in addition to offering 2,000 stocked designs to clients. We have also since added airbrush tattoos, nail tattoos, dog tattoos, face painting and various printing services to our list of body art options. If you can dream it, Laine Too can tattoo it.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
All businesses come with challenges. Working in the corporate world supporting my family businesses for many years taught me the ups and downs that come with entrepreneurship. Thankfully, Laine Too has only had to combat the normal everyday challenges such as building a strong client base, finding amazing staffing, and keeping product lines fresh and exciting.
