Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Louise.
Tiffany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well, I guess it all started when I was three years old and my mother put me in therapy when my parents were divorcing. She taught us that tough times will happen, but you can reach out to someone for support, and it will help you feel better. I really believe those experiences taught me about the healing power of support, connection, and communication. As I grew older, I just knew in my bones this was what I was supposed to do. I understood people, I had a sense about them. I would meet someone and have an idea or a feeling about something that had happened to them. I knew how to talk to people – basically, how I would want someone to talk to me. It just always felt right. Like there was nothing else I could do in this life.
In college, I studied Psychology and Women’s Studies, and then went on to get a Master’s Degree. I have been working in the field since I was 18 when I started doing Applied Behavioral Analysis working with children with pervasive developmental disorders. Since then I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, outpatient addiction treatment programs, counseling centers – you name it really, in the field of behavioral health. A few years back, I started to take action on my dream of creating my own business – coaching, speaking, consulting. It allows me to bring my work out from behind closed doors, and impact people on a broader platform. I have never been happier than in this work.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Hahaha, smooth. Anything but. I think LIFE uses the bumps in the road to grow us. My evolution has been to accept the challenges that come before me rather than resist. I think life is a lot like surfing. There will always be waves coming toward you, it is all about how you ride them. I would say some of the biggest struggles have been facing fears. Anytime you put yourself out there you are exposing yourself to criticism, and a big part of the path is becoming willing to face this. To face the fear of “what will they think or say.” I went from working in confidential settings to doing TV segments, speaking for huge brands, and creating my own structure for my coaching business. No one else was telling me what to do or how to do it anymore. It was me. It seems sometimes in the life of entrepreneurship there is no safe place to fall. It is all on you. So, I have had to learn to lean on my faith and stay true to my beliefs. When the fear comes up I turn to that.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Tiffany Louise story. Tell us more about the business.
In my business, I am a professional coach, speaker, and consultant. In a nutshell, I take 17 years of professional experience helping people make major changes in their thoughts and behavior, and I teach those tools to individuals and groups. I teach people mindset mastery techniques to change their lives.
I do private coaching, lead workshops, and groups, and speak at various events for like-minded brands. I also work with brands in spokesperson and brand ambassador type roles.
I believe what sets me apart is my clinical experience. I love how people are moved to change the world and serve. However, I get very concerned when I see people coaching outside of their scope and ability. I take my responsibility in this role very seriously. If you are coaching or doing transformational work with someone you need to be assured they know what coaching is and isn’t. It is a fine line, and I often see people practicing irresponsibly. I look forward to the day where there is more regulation around coaching. But for now, I do my part by mentoring people up and coming in the field and making sure I run a very client-centered business.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck, I believe in grace. In terms of blessings, everything I have in my life is due to those divine gifts. Gifts of the right people at the right time, gifts of lessons learned the hard way, gifts of support of friends and family. I look back at my life and all of the grace, and I am completely humbled. We often think if we just charge at a goal hard enough, hustle hard enough, we will get there. But I prefer to take the path of faith. When I am in flow, and my heart is in the right place, I trust the right things will come to me if I do the work. And I have seen this happen enough in my life to believe it.
I don’t believe everything happens for a reason. But, I believe a reason can come from everything that happens. I believe really tough things happen to people in this life and God did not plan for people to hurt this way. People are human and hurt one another. BUT I believe that the moment something painful or awful happens in this life, that the universe is ready with infinite blessings that can come from it. We get to choose if we see life this way. I do my best to view life through this lens.
