Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Kohls.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Danielle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Hey everyone! I’m a small town girl who grew up in Wisconsin. All throughout high school, I knew two things: I wanted to be a nurse and move to a big city. I moved to Madison for college and absolutely loved it. I knew my next city had to be Chicago! So, here I am, living in Chicago and working as a Registered Nurse, of course, absolutely love it! After a year of living here, I decided to start writing a blog about all of the fun experiences I was trying here in the city and other things going on in life and nursing. I’ve had so much fun and cannot wait to see what adventures come next.
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course, everyone has struggled along the way. As my mom always told me, everything happens for a reason. Probably one of my biggest struggles was becoming a nurse. It is very competitive to get into nursing school and I had a hard time getting into school at first. It was really disheartening because I knew I was supposed to be a nurse but I didn’t know if I was going to get the chance. But all the no’s from schools led me to a great nursing program and it all worked out in the end! So, for all those ladies out there striving for their dreams, don’t give up when the tough times come. Everyone has their own path in life and that’s what makes it special for each and everyone. Sometimes, you just know in your heart that you’re meant to do something and that’s not something to let go.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Simply Danielle – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I always say I’m a nurse by night and a blogger by day because I work a night shift at the hospital. I love trying new things so starting a blog, I thought was a great way to document all of them. I created my blog about my lifestyle, nursing, and love for health/fitness. These are obvious themes to pick for me because they are what I enjoy the most. One of my favorite topics to post about is the new restaurants I visit in Chicago. There is so much good food and I love experiencing it all! Starting a blog is sometimes the hardest thing because you never know what people are going to say. My blog isn’t just about me, it’s about everything in life that I love, like food!
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
I would have never gotten to where I am today if it hadn’t been for my amazing friends and family with their awesome support. They were there to cheer me on every step of the way and be there for me when things weren’t going right. I wouldn’t be the same person without them!
