Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Gregorczyk.
Sherri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I moved to the area in 2006 and fell in love with it. There were no shops in the area at the time and I thought that is one thing the neighborhood could use. I had co-owned a store previously so I was aware of the challenges, but I couldn’t think of anything I would rather be doing. I still absolutely love everything about it and I am so grateful to the community for supporting my dream.
Has it been a smooth road?
I opened at the end of 2006 and then there was the financial crisis in 2007-2008. Sales did increase each year, but it wasn’t the growth that I had hoped for. I still feel like it is a struggle sometimes financially, but something always comes my way when I need it the most.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Komoda – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Komoda, gifts for you and yours. I really am trying to have the perfect gift for everyone and I think that Komda is known for having it. Plus we will wrap it at no extra charge. I like things that are beautiful and useful. I love supporting local makers and small businesses. I think what sets Komoda apart from other companies is the bonds that we form with our customers.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Chicago for it’s diversity and our fresh water lake. What I like least, is how spread out it is and the lack of trains. And that most businesses have to be on a main road in order to be seen.
