Hello! I’m from the suburbs of Chicago. I was born and raised in Chicago with my brother Kenneth. My husband Stephen and I met 16 years ago and that’s where our story begins. We have two beautiful children, a daughter, Skylar 12 and a son, Jackson who is 9 years old. When most people my age were attended college, I found myself wanting something else in life. I signed up for beauty school to fulfill my passion. During my beauty career, my life took a quick turn as I joined the Chicago Police Department. I worked as an Officer and learned many things from the experiences I gained there. After a few years, I realized I wasn’t accomplishing my dreams. I value the work of all Police officers and have no regrets joining the force it has helped me become the person I am today. I have now been in the beauty industry for over 25 years and have opened
B Stunning Salon in Orlando Park. I’m proud of my accomplishments because it took a lot of hard work, long nights, starting over, perseverance and courage, but I’ve made it!!!
Has it been a smooth road?
As anyone, I have hit hardship along the way. It took a lot for me to leave the Chicago Police in order to change my life completely and pursue my beauty career. Then building my salon from the ground up was no small feat, on top of all this taking caring for my mother, and raising two kids! I try very hard to keep my family close and give my kids the opportunities they could want in life. As challenging as life can get, I wouldn’t change a thing.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the B Stunning Salon story. Tell us more about the business.
As I have mentioned, I own B Stunning Salon in Orland Park. I’m extremely proud of my salon because I get to work with an amazing team of stylists who are very talented. We are an upscale salon that believes in creating a friendly, loving atmosphere for all our clients. Our salon is on the cutting edge hairstyles, color and bleach blondes. We offer many specialized services.
Brazilian blowouts, hair extensions, waxing, and makeup. We also cater to wedding parties and special events.
I would say, I’m know for working my hardest and putting in the extra time to giving my client exactly what they want. As a team, B Stunning is known for having a diversity of stylists with a plethora of skills and products to better anyone who walks in our door.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
My outlook for the future is to continue to work hard and don’t let anything stand in my way. With determination and support from my family, I will succeed! Always reach for the stars because dreams do come true! 😉
