Caroline, owner of A La Mode Hair Design located in Skokie has been a full service salon for over 10 years. With her North Shore clientele she and her partner Vikki, a Chicago based Realtor decided to expand the business vision by accommodating her on-the-go clients that simply just want a Blowout. With the experience and celebrity roster she built over the years, Caroline has become a recognized name in the blowout business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing ever comes Easy! You have to work hard, use the resources you have and strive through the difficulties in business. We built our business from the ground up; concept, mission statement, location, construction, permits through the village, market research, pricing strategies, marketing, promotions, donations, events, word of mouth, involvement in the community. These are all obstacles in some ways but without them there would be no business to improve on.

What were you like growing up?
I was the boss and I know my partner Caroline was too! I were the leaders of the pack and always wanted to be the one others looked up to. From a very young age I was always independent, creative and full of ideas.
