Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary Koran.
Zachary, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started in Real Estate approximately 4 years ago as a part-time agent. I was an independent personal trainer for over 15 years and transitioned into real estate in 2014… I worked both businesses around 60-70 hours a week for the first two years. It was extremely tough but I am grateful that I had the opportunity to do both at the same time – it made for a much smoother transition but wasn’t easy. 😉
I was extremely passionate about helping people find their homes and I definitely saw the big picture in real estate – meaning I saw a ton of value in helping people with the biggest purchase of their lives. It was what I had been looking for in a career my entire life. Once I really committed to real estate it took off!! In the last two years, my business has doubled every year and we’re looking to do it again in 2018 – helping people purchase homes and also helping them sell. Our goal is 15million in sales for 2018.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not!!! The thing is about real estate it never sleeps! You can truly work 24 hours a day trying helping current clients and trying to find new business.
Most people want to look at homes in the evening and on the weekends when they are not working so finding some balance is key to this business. At first, it was very difficult because I was working another job and trying to grow my real estate business. Plus I am a Dad so spending quality time with my son Myles has always been #1. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep much at the beginning LOL.
Another big hurdle was stepping away from my other job and diving into real estate full time. I was lucky enough that I had another job that gave me a ton of flexibility. Once the deals started to roll I saw nothing but opportunity in real estate from a financial standpoint and the chance to help more people. Needless to say, that last two years has been amazing and I feel like real estate is my #1 passion.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Zach Koran Real Estate – what should we know?
Zach Koran Real Estate is a real estate team that includes my self as the principal and lead broker. I have a full-time assistant as well as two buyers agents that I pass leads to. My day to day consists of calling and setting appointments with past clients, current clients, referrals and new leads.
Zach Koran Real Estate specializes in helping buyers with their homes purchase, sellers with listing their home for sale, helping investors with their portfolio or investment properties, as well as helping entrepreneurs with commercial spaces. I feel like our seamless process for our clients truly sets us apart from other brokers. We have developed checklists in every part of our business to give our clients an amazing experience.
I am most proud of how fast we have grown and the fact of all of the referrals we are starting to get. People truly trust Zach Koran Real Estate because the experience is like none other.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hard work and the willingness to keep learning are the most important.
At first, you don’t know much but you have to work hards even late at night and stay small. I was lucky enough to get some big deals right away so but your only as good as your last deal. Real estate is100% commission so you have to keep your head down and keep busting your butt day to day but it’s SO worth it.
