Meet Pam Eernisse of Michigan Avenue Podiatry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Eernisse.

Dr. Eernisse attended William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, where she completed her Doctorate in 1998. She received certification in foot surgery in 2002, and currently practices in Justice, IL, in addition to Michigan Avenue Podiatry. She is a founder of Community Foot Health, a program that provides free foot care and distributes shoes and socks to Chicago’s homeless and uninsured populations.

As a practicing podiatrist, she relishes the opportunities to provide her patients with the medical attention they require. From new visits to continual care, Dr. Eernisse possesses the tools to treat her patients both conservatively and surgically and ensure that they return to their everyday lives.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My priority (and my passion) has always been the time I get to spend with patients face-to-face. Our current healthcare environment has presented challenges in spending adequate time with each patient, due to the time required in order to fulfill documentation & insurance coding requirements.

Michigan Avenue Podiatry – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
At Michigan Avenue Podiatry, we provide general Podiatric care, diabetic foot care, and perform foot & ankle surgeries. In contrast to many practices that have been acquired by larger hospital conglomerates, our practice has remained independently owned, which has allowed us to have more personal interactions with our patients. Over time, we have continued to modernize our practice by expanding our services even further.

This has included providing PinPointe laser treatment (for toenail fungus), shockwave treatments, and on-site x-ray services. In addition, due to our evergrowing segment of diabetic patients, we realized the importance of providing a safe environment for manicure and pedicure services, which lead to us opening our sister company, Salon Sole.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is defined by the amount of quality care we are able to provide to our patients each day. That’s why we’re always exploring new ways to increase our administrative efficiency, in order to maximize the qualitative time we can spend with our patients each day.

Pricing:

  • Shockwave Treatment ESWT – for heel pain (planter facetious) and tendentious – $150
  • PinPointe Laser Treatment – for toenail fungus – $150 per toe
  • Medical Pedicure – $45
  • Medical Manicure – $35
