Patricia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After many years of visiting salons across the Chicagoland area and noticing that each and every salon from the low priced to the most expensive, higher end salons, there was always something missing. Whether it was the cleanliness, the unsanitary tools and practices used, the terrible customer service or the quality of the products used, I felt that it could be better.
Using my business and entrepreneurship skills, I decided to open up a salon that would provide these things. I hired a nail technician that would help train the nail technicians and would follow the strict protocols that I had developed. Over time and lots of research, I was able to learn the ins and outs of the business and learned from many of the technicians, estheticians and massage therapists over the years to improve on current practices. I have also personally developed many of the services that we provide and I am constantly researching new trends, better practices as well as visiting many trade shows to see what’s out there that we can in our salon.
Has it been a smooth road?
There were many obstacles along the way, but the biggest struggle was finding talented individuals that shared the same passion, dedication and vision that we strive for to provide the highest quality of services, exceptional customer service and follow our strict protocols on sanitation. There are very few individuals that have that mindset and have that dedication that we look for.
Over the years we’ve had to hire and fire many individuals that didn’t follow our ethos.

Broken Nail Boutique is a premier salon in the south western suburbs of Chicago that specializes in spa manicures & pedicures, waxing, facial services, eyelash extensions, & massage therapy. What separates our salon from other salons is our dedication to highest quality of services, great customer service and the strictest sanitation methodology.
We only purchase high quality products and train our employees over the course of 6 months to a year following strict protocols, customer service, sanitary practices, including autoclaving tools. Almost everything we use is disposable and our tubs are jet less to prevent the harboring of bacteria.
We listen to our customers and strive to improve our practices. Our sanitation is the best in the business. You can be assured that if you come to our salon, you will be safe.

The City if Chicago is an ideal place for small businesses because of its’ diverse economy and great opportunities available to entrepreneurs. With its’ many small businesses, including restaurants & retail shops, Chicago offers residents many places to go and allows these businesses to thrive.
