So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my career in 1999. I was young and had a hunger to learn and the drive to hit all my goals. I worked on the Gold Coast with some of Chicago’s best stylists, I was in the best place I could be! Moving on, I excelled in my career, I moved up very quickly and come to a top stylist at the salon.
Even though I loved my team, location, and clientele, I always wanted more! So naturally, I decided to be my own boss, I became a “Booth Renter”. Wow, this was great, I made my own schedule, bought my own supplies, life was grand! There was one small problem, something missing from it all, I missed the camaraderie and company of my dear co-workers.
This is when I decided I will follow my dream and just do it, open my very own hair salon in Chicago. I built an amazing team and a phenomenal environment, where luxury meets comfort. Today Salon 833 Chicago is one of the top boutique’s hair salons in the city, we strive to create an environment in which our clients can experience chic, nonchalant style tailored to their individual personality!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Struggles, Ha, YES!!! there are always bumps along the road, molehills, and mountains but one thing I was told when I first opened Salo 833, “it’s going to be a rollercoaster ride, but just hold on tight, it will all be worth it!” I keep those words in the back of my head every day along with the most positive approach to life I possibly can. Nothing comes easy, really, it took and continues to take me loads of hard work which overall makes me appreciate my accomplishments even more!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Start over?? There wouldn’t be a “start over” There are no regrets, there are no mistakes, tons I have learned or let’s just call it experience, but I actually have never said, “if I can start over”! I have become very ‘experienced” over the past 5 years (I am actually saying this with a huge smile on my face) I look forward to many more happy, healthy and prosperous years to come! XOXO
