Check out Orli Koloms’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Orli Koloms.

Orli, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have no formal art training however have always been a creative person. I experience the world with all my senses, as part of my creative process. Art has always been a way for me to fill in where words don’t seem to fit. I find it a way that connects people on multiple levels.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I don’t subscribe to one medium. I am by nature a curious person, and am constantly creating something new. I make art as a narration for my life, each piece a glimpse into a day or experience. I create with wonder.

This process takes patience, a concept I am always striving to strengthen. Using quick set concrete has challenged me to work fast and smart. Lots of trial and error!

I am inspired by nature, stories, love, and my family.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
One of the biggest challenges artist today face is time. Unless this is a full-time career, art making is a balancing game.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I am currently in graduate school, with the goal to graduate this coming June. Once that is under my belt, I plan to be in art festivals across the Chicago land area this summer.

Wow. What beautiful stools, the strength of concrete and the warmth of gold. I love how artist Orli Koloms combined the two in such an artful manner.
    I want one!
