Today we’d like to introduce you to Brie Pflederer.
Brie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I majored in Horticulture at the University of Illinois, with an intention of doing Landscape Design. I took a floral design class on a whim in college just for fun and really ended up loving it. I never thought it would become my career, but knew right away I loved working with flowers.
After the course, a friend asked me to do her wedding for fun and I said yes, which was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! From there, the business grew from friends to friends of friends, to acquaintances, to people I’ve never met. After doing wedding florals on the side for three years, I started Splendor of Eden full-time in January of 2016!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall it’s been a very smooth road, with doors always opening at the right time making it clear which steps I should take to further my business. One challenge was moving my business from Peoria to Chicago a year ago. It was sad to leave the market that I built in Peoria because I had so many great vendor connections and I really knew the industry there. However, I am thankful I can still travel back to the area easily and Chicago has been a whole exciting new floral world to tap into!

Splendor of Eden is an organic, textural floral design company specializing in wedding florals. I love to source the perfect elements to make unique arrangements with a variety of textures, tones & shapes. I’m greatly inspired by nature and love offering spectacular seasonal palettes that are trend-setting yet timeless.
What sets me apart is the personal touch I put on all my designs. My clients’ personality is reflected in their wedding flowers, while still reflecting my organic aesthetic. I aim to create works of art that become a truly special detail of their day to look back on and remember fondly, something that evokes good emotion and represents them well
