Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Hampton.
Felicia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a little girl I’ve always loved fashion, my mother dressed me and my sister in fancy dresses no matter what the occasion was. We loved dressing up We were always nice and neat. I watch my mother dress and should was and still is today a true diva. And as a teenager I always dressed different from my peers and was always complimented right then I knew I wanted to do something in fashion I just didn’t know what exactly.
How I got started was when I had my very first granddaughter I would take her shopping with me to different boutiques and when she turn 4yrs old she said to me grandmom how come these stores don’t make things for little girls? Can you make me something? And immediately I said yes! Without any knowledge of what I was going to make, I went home went online to YouTube to learn how to make little girls tutu’s… I made her 1st tutu and it was beautiful she loved it so much I decided to make a few more and began to sell them. And it was such a great success.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a smooth road thus far!
We’d love to hear more about your business.

What were you like growing up?
I was a very shy person growing up, but I always like to shop with my mom and sister as I grew older and went to High School I gradually grew from being shy to outgoing. And my interest for the latest fashion was more exciting than ever I attended Dunbar Vocation High School and wanted to major in fashion but instead I Marjored in Business.
I personally had to switch up just a little… I no longer had the interest in fashion I wanted to own a business in daycare. My love for children was Phenomenal I wanted to help take care of children and in 2002 I started a home day named Making Dreams Happen and to this day I’m still in business successfully. I’ve provided care for over 80 children in my home within 16 Years.
