Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Miranda and AE Phanith.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
While perusing an undergrad degree at Columbia College Chicago and working with another college startup, the idea of WAMI LIVE was born in a little coffee shop with co-founder and developer AE Phanith. The website and features have changed, but the concept has always stayed the same. The main goal has always been to help musicians, bands and artist succeed in the music industry hostile environment by giving the entertainers the power to collect data and in turn increasing their organic fan reach.
WAMI LIVE has also ventured into its own events, expanding its reach in the Chicago nightlife industry. We also work with venues in the same manner. It just gets better and better.
Has it been a smooth road?
Developing WAMI LIVE has been anything but a smooth road. In reality we know what it’s like to be an artist or a musician as we have lost jobs, personal wealth, relationships and friends throughout the years working on WAMI LIVE. We have changed the concept or directions many times to come to the road we are on now. We still believe some of our past features have value but were too complicated to use in their raw form. We hope to continue to develop our features and make them more user friendly.
Long story short, we feel the pain of starving artists because we are one.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the WAMI LIVE INC story. Tell us more about the business.
WAMI LIVE is an entertainment company that specializes in helping musicians, bands and Artists succeed by providing tools that help them increase their organic reach and collect fan data. We also use our own data to help promote local shows.
WAMI LIVE also specializes in its own events, for example: Booze Cruises, Bar Crawls, Concerts and Holiday Themed Events. By providing Chicago with amazing events we also increase our organic reach in return increasing our customer base.
What sets us apart from most is we care about the little guys, the band just starting out, the musician at his first show and the DJ on the decks for the first time. We work with them all.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In 5 to 10 years we want to be in every big city in the US and known as a company that caters to the entertainment industry. We also hope to have rolled out more tools that help our users reach their dreams.
In today’s hostile music industry, musicians not only have to create music, but they also have to be promoters, managers, graphic designers and social media experts just to have a chance on their music being heard. We work hard so artists and musicians have the tools they need to get back to what’s important, their music.
