Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Williams.
Anthony, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been in the HVAC industry for 11 years. Originally, I wanted to pursue a career in graphic design. My growing interest in web design and editing photos prompted me to attend college for approximately two years. It was during my matriculation through this program that my brother inspired me to take a closer look into the HVAC industry. He convinced me that the heating and air conditioning industry was one of the best trades on the market and that I would always be employed. At the time, my brother had recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering from Bradley University, we always envisioned owning a business together and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to make our dreams reality. So, following his advice, as a secondary plan, I decided to attend The Environmental Technical Institute to study the heating and air conditioning industry. I fell in love with the industry. In 2006, I graduated from Environmental Technical Institute and decided to shift my entire focus toward the HVAC field.
Since being in the industry. I’ve worked for some of the biggest named and most successful companies in Chicago, however ownership was always the goal. With the proper training, desire to learn the industry, and desire to be one of the leading HVAC specialists, I was motivated to start ACCURATE HVAC LLC. In 2013, I was down to my last $500 dollars and determined. With that $500, I was able to secure a business license and obtain insurance which allowed me to go into business full time. I had the tools and talent to take on any project that came my way, thus in a short period of time I was able to turn ACCURATE HVAC LLC into a profitable enterprise.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a company has not always been smooth, but it has always been rewarding overall. Some of the struggles along the way have included lacking resources that would allow ACCURATE HVAC to expand, lack of capital to run the day to day operations, hiring trustworthy individuals to treat the company with pride and respect, investing long hours at times without compensation, fulfilling multiple roles within the company simultaneously and lack of job security. While there have been struggles, each struggle has aided in my progression.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’m most proud of my ability to help many of the individuals I encounter. For instance, in the past, I’ve come in contact with families who were unable to afford the full cost of services, because of my giving heart and commitment to helping others I have done services at a discounted rate and even for free. I’m also proud of my ability to use my skills as a way to give back on a more global level. For instance, during Hurricane Harvey, I traveled to Houston, Texas to volunteer my services to those in need. Nothing feels more rewarding than seeing a smile on the face of a family I have helped.
