Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Lichtenstein.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My parents immigrated from Nicaragua to Miami for a better life. Through hard work, they built a 30+ year business. At my first job, I discovered social media and suggested that we offer it as a service. This was unheard of at the time, but I went on to build their social media division.
Bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, I decided to launch Micro Media Marketing at 23 years old. My social media agency started with only 2 consulting clients. I was inspired by the likes of Gary Vaynerchuck and he graciously allowed me to work out of his Vaynermedia offices. The bright entrepreneurs in my life and those I meet along the way, continue to spark my fire. It’s our 9th year in business and we are happy to call Chicago home. To work, doing what I love every day is the best gift.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The first 2 years of being in business, I worked 24/7 to build my company. Believe me, there are better ways to grow a business. By taking a step back, I was able to realize that I needed more support. I re-evaluated my priorities and hired the right people. This freed up my time to focus on my strengths. In a constantly changing market like social media, it is important to stay ahead of what’s next and now I am able to do that.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Micro Media Marketing – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Micro Media Marketing is your boutique social media agency. We offer personalized service because we love to build relationships with our clients. We specialize in social media management, from strategy to the full implementation. We are proud to grow brands through social media since 2009.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The future of social media marketing means connecting with consumers on a genuine level. Consumers do not respond as well to stock or catalog photography. They want to see your products being used in real life by real people. So we are focusing more on influencer marketing, lifestyle photography, videography and going live. These are the big changes that we have already started implementing with clients.
