Today we’d like to introduce you to Bozena Kapcia.
Bozena, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Poland and come to the States in my early 20s. I was inspired by the artist that I saw on the faux painting the walls.
It was then that I decided to pursue a career in hand painted wallpapers. I started as a faux finisher and then eventually opened my own studio and began creating my own wallpapers.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road ,but every challenge has led me to where I am today and has made me stronger and more in touch with my creativity. I came to realization that no matter what happens I always can find a way to make it work.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Studio BK story. Tell us more about the business.
Studio Bk does faux finishes but we focus our attention on creating new design for wall coverings.
We specialize in plasters, gold leaf, silver leaf and glazes. We are mostly known for venetian plaster installation which we incorporate a lot into our work.
I am most proud of my work as an artist and making my clients happy.
What sets my company apart from others is our venture into large scale plaster finishes on canvas which makes the installation seamless.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry blooming by reaching more clients and designers by incorporating mare wall coverings into their practice.
A trend I would like to see is more integration of my work and ideas into furniture i.e. oversize coffee tables, etc.
