Sam, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We’ve been in business since 1991 at the same location.
Has it been a smooth road?
With the digital revolution and the prolifiration of DAW, many artists are doing a lot of their work (pre-production, recording) at their own spots.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Studio 2020 Chicago story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a full production facility, taking an artist idea/vision from start to finish, from pre-production to radio ready tracks, we do audio for video, audio for movies, voice-overs for radio and TV, streaming vlogs, we produced our own movies, reality shows for the internet, we do quite a bit of world music mixing and mastering. We are proud to be involved in our community, we support charities and we are the main sponsor of the Latin American Guitar Festival (where we bring accomplished guitar players from all over the world, mainly Central and South America). What sets us apart is, that we like to be a place where its comfortable and a positive experience for the client.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We are hoping the music industry will follow suit of the video industry which is being able to stream/download music at high fidelity instead of today’s Mp3.
