Today we’d like to introduce you to Luz Campos.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all began with a vision to help others feel better about themselves. That has always been my nature; I love to give what I have, and share what I can do, with others. I have also always been intrigued by the power that makeup has and the way that it can enhance, and even transform, an individual’s beauty.
About two and a half years ago, I decided to attend a makeup course in Los Angeles, CA with TNT Agency. I completed the course and became a certified makeup artist and hairstylist. I sought out more courses to continue to learn different techniques. I constantly strive to know more and be better and I truly love what I am doing.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like with anything in life there have been some challenges. I delayed my dream of becoming a makeup artist when I conceived my first child at the age of 17. Being a mom isn’t easy and being a teen mom can be even more challenging. Needing quick income, I decided to become a Certified Medical Assistant so that I could help my partner provide for our growing family. I didn’t realize that I had unintentionally created a void. I enjoyed my job but wasn’t happy. I got stuck in my daily routine and that void remained unfilled. I finally realized that in order to make the people who surround me happy, I must be happy. It was a mental challenge I needed to overcome and that’s when I decided to pursue my dream.
Resonate Beauty – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
A touch of beauty resonates. I believe if you feel beautiful, your beauty will resonate and you will be kinder to others; hence the name Resonate Beauty. I provide makeup and hair styling services for all occasions. Meeting my clients’ needs is the key to my success and I strive to provide the best service possible for them. Attending seminars and being up to date with the newest trends helps set me apart from others. I believe that you should never stop learning. The moment you think you know it all is when you will no longer grow as an artist or as a person.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is achieved once you have filled each void you have created. Each void is filled once you have accomplished a goal and whether it’s a short term or long-term goal, you need to have micro goals to reach it.
