Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Harte.
Maria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story begins in 2013. I decided to go for it and pursue my dream of being a photographer. While I was working my day job in the dental field, I took a leap of faith and started my photography business. I did both for a full year before deciding to go full time as a Wedding photographer to focus on and better serve all my couples and clients.
I’m so grateful I had the courage to make that leap!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being an entrepreneur definitely has its challenges. Running a business is one of the toughest jobs I’ve ever experienced; but so rewarding in the end. Yes, I’ve made a few mistakes along the way, but it’s part of this process and pushes me to improve.
Great thing about this industry is that I will never stop learning. Every day holds a new lesson and an opportunity to push my boundaries. There’s always a new creative element in each shot, something that is unique to each person or couple and I’m blessed enough to capture it!
Maria Harte Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a Chicago and destination wedding photographer. I specialize in weddings and engagements, I love to serve couples! I’m very detail oriented and strongly believe that the smallest things are the big things. My style of photography is romantic, clean, classic and editorial. I make sure my couples enjoy their wedding day fully and not worry about anything. I love when I get greeted with a big hug and hear them say, “Yay, so glad you’re here” it warms my heart to feel the love and that they fully trust me.
I’m so proud of the friendships I have build with my couples. I don’t just get to be part of their big day, but I get to hang out with them after and catch up over coffee. I truly have the best job in the world! It doesn’t get any better than being part of someone’s happiest day of their lives.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I wouldn’t be where I am without God, my husband and family. Being successful is not about how many degrees I have or how much money I make. For me being successful is being able to do what you love and love what you do!
