Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Svec.
Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started modeling cheerleading uniforms at age 15. I worked live events, trade shows, and some print and local commercials. My most memorable job was throwing out the first pitch as Barbie at Wrigley Field. At age 23, I had many clients asking to bring a cute friend with to the trade show, promotion, golf outing… That’s when I decided to start One Magnificent Model. I had an office in the John Hancock building on the Magnificent Mile.
Business was successful until 911. Business declined by 70%. I had to find a way to pay my rent. I did some soul searching to find what am I really passionate about. I love the spa. I have been getting facials monthly since I was 15. I then went to the Aveda Institute of Chicago. In 2004, I had a key role in starting Dr Fenner’s Plastic Surgery MedSpa for Evanston Northwestern Hospital which is now NorthShore University HealthSystem Hospital. I worked for NorthShore HealthSystem Plastic Surgery until 11-9-17. Always having a dream of opening my own Medspa, that’s what I did. I opened One Magnificent Medspa on 11-15-17.
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course not… With the modeling agency, trying to find trustworthy, beautiful, responsible, reliable individuals that can communicate well is hard to find in a complete package.
With my Medspa, my goal for each guests’ experience is to feel relaxed, improve the health of their skin, educate them on how to improve their skin at home, but not feel rushed. It’s hard to accomplish
all that in 1 hour.
I do not have a business degree, I’m trying to run 2 businesses using my personal experiences & the Golden Rule. So far it’s working out.

One Magnificent Model – we specialize in trade shows. We provide models for exhibits at McCormick Place… I’m most proud of my magnificent team of models and that we are celebrating 20 successful years this year!
One Magnificent Medspa- we specialize in medical grade relaxing facial treatments. What sets us apart is that guests experience a medical grade facial treatment, and they feel as if they just walked out of a luxury hotel spa but better!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
One Magnificent Model started in Chicago in 1998 in the John Hancock building. Yes, the Magnificent Mile was my inspiration!
One Magnificent Medspa is in Winnetka. The North Shore of Chicago is magnificent and just a short ride up LSD to Sheridan road.
